Meet Ethan Njiro And Karama Sweve from Mzumbe Secondary School, who are developing their project: "Addressing Tanzanian's Water Scarcity.".
Preliminary research on water scarcity in selected regions of tanzania involved field visits, interviews, and household surveys. Findings revealed reliance on unprotected water sources and shortages during dry seasons. Small-scale rainwater harvesting trials improved water availability, while quality tests showed safe use with proper filtration and storage. Infrastructure assessments identified leakages, poor maintenance, and distribution challenges. These findings guided the project design and supported sustainable, community-based water solutions.
By combining scientific investigation with practical problem-solving, these students are demonstrating how innovative research can contribute to community well-being and sustainable development.
We are proud to see young scientists using science to create positive change in their communities!
