Meet Millium Athanas Amandus And Twahili Hasani Twahili from Nachingwea Secondary School, who are developing their project: "Harnessing Pawpaw Leaves, Moringa Leaves and Neem Leaves Mixture to Combat Poultry Diseases".
Their project explores the use of a herbal remedy made from pawpaw, moringa, and neem leaves to control poultry coccidiosis, a common disease that causes significant losses for smallholder farmers. By evaluating the effectiveness of these plant-based extracts in improving bird health, growth, and survival rates, the students are demonstrating how locally available natural resources can provide affordable and sustainable alternatives to conventional treatments, helping to enhance poultry productivity, food security, and rural livelihoods.
By combining scientific investigation with practical problem-solving, these students are demonstrating how innovative research can contribute to community well-being and sustainable development.
We are proud to see young scientists using science to create positive change in their communities!
