Meet Murtaza Rashidi Kide And Mohamed Amur Ally from Mbekenyera Secondary School, who are developing their project: "Investigation of the Type of Light Bulb That Does Not Attract Insects in Order to Reduce Their Entry Into Homes.".
This project investigates the effect of different light bulb wavelengths on the attraction and repulsion of household insects. The study aims to identify bulb colors and light characteristics that reduce the presence of insects around homes, improving comfort and hygiene while minimizing the use of chemical insecticides. Through scientific observation, experimentation, and data analysis, the students are exploring environmentally friendly methods of insect control that can benefit households and communities.
By combining scientific investigation with practical problem-solving, these students are demonstrating how innovative research can contribute to community well-being and sustainable development.
