Meet Naifat Mussa Mbinga And Vitalis Majuto Vitalis from Nachingwea Secondary School, who are developing their project: "Local Herbal Remedy for Poultry Disease Control".
This project investigates the effectiveness of a locally available herbal combination, aloe vera, garlic, and red pepper in controlling poultry diseases, particularly newcastle disease and avian influenza in nachingwea district. Through home-based experiments, the study seeks to provide smallholder farmers with an affordable, accessible, and natural alternative to conventional veterinary treatments.
By combining scientific investigation with practical problem-solving, these students are demonstrating how innovative research can contribute to community well-being and sustainable development.
We are proud to see young scientists using science to create positive change in their communities!
